cMoe has a new Executive Director!
The Koch Family Children’s Museum of Evansville (cMoe) announces Erica Schmidt as the new Executive Director for the Museum. Schmidt arrives at an exciting new chapter with the Museum’s Play It Forward philanthropic campaign in full swing.
The Play it Forward efforts support a broad renovation project which will update and expand several indoor exhibits, starting this fall with major renovation to the Quack Factory, updating the popular exhibit with the giant-sized duck named Moe, giving more areas for kids to climb, explore, and play and learn with water.
“cMoe’s Board of Directors is thrilled that Erica has agreed to take on the role of Executive Director. The Board is confident that Erica has the right experience, skills and passion to lead the organization,” said Will Cartwright, cMoe Board President.
Most recently Schmidt was Adjunct Professor at University of Southern Indiana (USI) and Ivy Tech Community College Evansville (Ivy Tech) where she taught various courses within Communication & Media. She has spent more than two decades in community relations that included resource development, strategic planning, hospitality management, customer relations, communications, and marketing.
"What an exciting time to serve our community by having the opportunity to lead Koch Family Children’s Museum of Evansville (cMoe) into its next chapter. I’m looking forward to celebrating many MILLIE MOE-ments with our community throughout the region," said Schmidt.
“cMoe cultivates deep, wide-ranging relationships with community partners, educators, employers, philanthropist and more, who give cMoe the crucial support needed to inspire children and their families,” adds Cartwright. “Erica will be a tremendous asset and will bring new creative ideas and positive energy to further cMoe’s mission to power lifelong learning through play.”
