Horror con 2025
The 2025 Evansville Horror Con unfolded at the Old National Events Plaza last weekend (March 1st and March 2nd). This annual convention has solidified its place as a must-attend event for horror aficionados, offering a weekend brimming with spine-chilling excitements. Let's dive into the crazy things you could have seen there!
Celebrity guests and panels!
David Howard Thornton: Renowned for his portrayal of Art the clown from the “Terrifier” series
Danielle Harris: Celebrated scream queen from the “Halloween” Franchise
Brian Krause: Best known for his role in “Charmed”
Jamie Kennedy: Actor and comedian from the “Scream” series
James Duval: He is known for his roles in Independence Day, Go, Donnie Darko, May, and the films of Gregg Araki
These celebrities participated in interactive panels, sharing behind-the-scenes insights into their successful careers! DJ Beetle and DJ MJ got to meet David Thornton. DJ Jakey P got to meet Jamie Kennedy and lastly, DJ GhostRider James Duval
Vendor Exhibits and workshops
The convention floor was alive with a diverse array of vendors that offered many different horror-themed merchandise, from handcrafted items to rare collectibles. DJ Beetle and DJ MJ, for example, collected a small jar that had a preserved tentacle from an octopus, and DJ Jakey P got a Masterball from the Pokemon series, and DJ Ghostrider got a VHS version of Monty Python and the Holy Grail. They offered special effects makeup tutorials and indie film-making sessions, catering to both enthusiasts and aspiring artists.
Film screenings and paranormal discussions
There was a dedicated screening room that featured indie horror films and cult classics, offering a lot of different activities for the guests to enjoy. Additionally, some panels delved into paranormal investigations and supernatural lore, providing attendees with bone-chilling tales and discussions.
Overall
It was an incredible experience to be able to meet these individuals and an amazing opportunity to go around and see the many different things that people give out and sell. Not to mention we got to meet a lot of different celebrities and it was amazing to talk to them.
