For those who aren’t familiar, Raptor Con is a fantastic nerd convention featuring an array of spectacular actors and celebrities. Living in southern Indiana, I don’t often get the chance to meet big-name stars, but one celebrity truly stood out during my visit: Sean Gunn, the talented actor known for his role as Kraglin in Guardians of the Galaxy and brother of director James Gunn.
At first, I was a bit nervous to approach him, but after mustering my courage, I asked him three questions.
First, I expressed my admiration for his acting and the films he has starred in, then posed my first question: “Out of all the Marvel movies you’re not in, which one is your favorite?” Sean gave me three fantastic answers. He mentioned that his top pick would have to be the original Iron Man for its status as a classic. His second favorite was Captain America: The Winter Soldier, praising its fast-paced action and impressive stunts. Finally, he highlighted Thor: Ragnarok for its outstanding humor and great villain. I appreciated his thoughtful responses!
Next, I asked, “Out of the movies you’ve been in within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which one was your favorite to film?” He shared that, while he enjoyed working on many projects, the most recent Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 held a special place in his heart.
Finally, I decided to throw in a fun and slightly random question: “What do you prefer, a grilled cheese or an omelet?” He answered thoughtfully, saying he’d lean towards a grilled cheese sandwich unless he could find a really good omelet.
Sean Gunn was genuinely nice, and I felt grateful for the chance to meet him. Overall, my experience at Raptor Con was unforgettable, and I can’t wait to hopefully return next year!
