Ivy Tech Plans Free Pancakes & Ivy Event for the Community February 17

    Attendees will be able to take part in a pancake and sausage breakfast, and children under 10 can have fun in a bouncy house, coloring tables, and other assorted games. Tours of the building will be offered, and a sampling of several college classes.

    Ivy Tech Community College Evansville has organized a community event that incorporates a free pancake breakfast, along with learning about Ivy Tech, and an opportunity to “try out” a sampling of free college classes. This family-friendly event – Pancakes & Ivy -- is planned for Saturday, Feb. 17, from 8-11 a.m., in the Koch Student Center on campus.

    Attendees will be able to take part in a pancake and sausage breakfast, and children under 10 can have fun in a bouncy house, coloring tables, and other assorted games. Tours of the building will be offered, and a sampling of several college classes.

    Classes to be offered from 10 to 10:30 a.m. include a few offerings from each of our eight schools:

    • Paramedic Science Program: Stop the Bleed

    • Early Childhood Education Program: Don’t be Late for EARLY Childhood Education

    • Criminal Justice Program: How to Get Hired as a Police Officer

    • Industrial Technology Program: Welding with Virtual Reality

    • Advanced Automation and Robotics: 3D Printing with Ivy Tech Pancakes

    • Energy Technology Program: Energy Technology

    • Information Technology Program: Building Your First Software Program

    • Biology Program: Dissecting Life

    • Entrepreneurship & Innovation Program: BizBlitz: Unleashing Your Inner Entrepreneur

    • Nursing Program: A Day in the Life of a Nurse

    • Business, Logistics & Supply Chain: Building Business Success: A Strategy with a Homebuilding Twist

    • Basic English for non-English speakers

    “We know that there are many individuals who may not have ever been inside the Ivy Tech building, and we wanted to create a fun, welcoming atmosphere for people to feel comfortable to be able to learn about how Ivy Tech can be a way for them or their children to reach their goals,” said Ivy Tech Chancellor Daniela Vidal. “Our faculty are excited to showcase many of our programs.”
