Lloyd Expressway Reduced to One Lane for Weekend Utility Work

Plan Ahead for Travel Between Vann Avenue and Stockwell Road

The Lloyd Expressway is expected to be reduced to a single lane in each direction this weekend between Vann Avenue and Stockwell Road. Starting on or after Friday evening, December 13, and lasting until Monday morning, crews will close all but one lane on both east and westbound Lloyd Expressway near Vann Avenue for storm sewer work underneath the roadway.

In advance of this weekend’s work, traffic will move into a new pattern in this section today. Motorists will be moved to the outside lanes of the Lloyd to make way for work in the median area. Pay attention to new signs directing traffic for the new shift. Traffic will return to this pattern once this weekend’s utility work is complete.

Longer wait times and congestion are expected over the weekend during the extra lane reduction. Motorists should plan for extra travel time when using the Lloyd Expressway, plan ahead by visiting INDOT TrafficWise or 511in.org to monitor congestion along the Lloyd.
