MOTION MANIA Opens September 10 at the Koch Family Children’s Museum of Evansville

Have you ever wondered why the first hill of a roller coaster is always the biggest?  Or, maybe why a roller coaster’s first drop cannot exceed the height of a hill it just climbed?  This traveling exhibit will give you the tools to find the answers to these questions and many more!

MOTION MANIA, an interactive roller coaster building exhibit, will open at the Children’s Museum of Evansville (cMoe) on September 10, 2024.  This traveling exhibit, created by the Ontario Science Centre, is open through January 6, 2025.

In this exhibit, you will get the chance to ask questions, test out personal theories and designs, observe results and then try something else – all important skills that are part of scientific investigation – the scientific process.

    Exhibit Highlights

    • Build Your Own Coaster – Have fun by creating different-shaped pathways and watch how the balls move along them. Create your very own roller coaster!

    • Energy Tracks – Look more closely at the different variables that affect motion and test them out one by one, leading to greater understanding of the physics of motion.
