Temporary road closure planned for U.S. 41 for pedestrian bridge installation in Vanderburgh County

INDOT continues to solidify the Hoosier State as the Crossroads of America through delivery of Gov. Eric J. Holcomb’s $60 billion Next Level Roads plan.

The Indiana Department of Transportation announces a lane closure and a temporary road closure for U.S. 41 in Vanderburgh County.

Beginning on or around Wednesday, August 14, crews will close the southbound passing lane of U.S. 41 in Evansville. This lane closure will occur between Bellemeade Avenue and Washington Avenue. This lane closure will allow for crane set up.

This crane will be used to install the pedestrian bridge over U.S. 41 near Washington Avenue. Temporary road closures on U.S. 41 will occur overnight on or around August 14. These closures will allow for lifting and setting of the bridge over the roadway. Crane deconstruction will follow once work is completed.
