In person applications begin October 8
The Salvation Army of Evansville will begin taking applications for Christmas assistance starting this week and continuing through October 28. Families that are struggling to make ends meet and are forced to make difficult decisions in the face of an uncertain Christmas are encouraged to apply.
Over 1,000 families are expected to apply this year both online and in person. Toy Town is designed for those families suffering hardships and anticipating struggles this fall that will render them unable to provide gifts or food for family gatherings around Christmas.
In-person sign-ups are at The Salvation Army of Evansville, located at 1040 N Fulton Avenue. The dates and times for in-person applicants are listed below. Online applications are also open and can be accessed through The Salvation Army's website at SAEvansville.org/brighten-the-

Last year The Salvation Army, in partnership with Southwestern Indiana Toys for Tots, served over 1,000 families and over 2,700 children in the greater Evansville area.
“In the spirit of joy and giving, our annual Toy Town program is more than an event. It’s a celebration of others, where smiles light up the season and every gift carries the magic of Christ’s love., said Captain Brandon Lewis, Corps Officer & Southwest Indiana Area Coordinator for The Salvation Army. “We are once again excited to fill hearts and homes with the enchanting spirit of Christmas!”
For business, groups, and individuals wanting to get involved, we will need volunteers to effectively care for these families in need. Sign up to volunteer at SAEvansville.org/volunteer.
