The Indiana Department of Transportation announces the opening of the U.S. 41 pedestrian bridge near Washington Avenue.
Beginning on or around Friday, December 20, crews will open the U.S. 41 pedestrian bridge near Bosse High School. The bridge will open during the last phase of construction for the bridge.
“Though this project isn’t fully complete,” said INDOT Southwest Public Relations Director Gary Brian, “we wanted to make sure that pedestrians had access as soon as possible to safely cross U.S. 41.”
Pedestrians will utilize a gravel walkway to access the pedestrian bridge. Further concrete work and painting are needed to complete the project. Work is expected to reach completion in the spring. A ribbon cutting is being planned once the project reaches completion.
