The Evansville Museum of Arts, History and Science is one of Southwestern Indiana’s most respected cultural institutions. The Museum maintains a permanent collection of more than 40,000 objects, including fine art, decorative arts, historic documents and photographs, and anthropological artifacts.
The Evansville Museum of Arts, History and Science Presents: National Chemistry Day 2023 - October 22nd, 2023 Join us for National Chemistry Day on October 22nd, 2023! Stop by from noon to 4 pm to learn about the healing power of chemistry! In partnership with local universities, the Evansville Museum will have activities for all ages to enjoy. Some activities will even be hands-on! Conduct chemistry experiments with real scientists, watch live science demonstrations, and explore how our bodies use chemistry to keep us healthy and happy. All who attend will have the opportunity to meet real scientists and their students. Beginning at 1 in the Old Gallery, USI will lead chemistry demonstrations until 1:30, followed by UE from 2-2:30, and Kentucky Wesleyan from 3-3:30. Thanks to our community sponsor, AstraZeneca, kids 17 and under get in FREE all day! We are so excited to show you how chemistry and our bodies work together. Day of the Dead Super Saturday - October 28th, 2023 Celebrate Dia de los Muertos with the Evansville Museum on October 28th from 11 am to 3 pm! Join us for this FREE event to remember your departed loved ones and to learn more about this beautiful tradition of Mexico. The Evansville Museum will have dance performances, scavenger hunts, and so much more for families to enjoy! After you complete our planned activities, make sure to look around the museum as well. The entire museum will be free to explore, so stop by and check out the Mexican Mask exhibition or artwork by featured artist Fernando Lozano. We can’t wait to see you and celebrate this wonderful tradition!
